We are thrilled to announce that our professional development residencies are returning, with our first of 2022 taking place in Ipswich, 11 to 15 July 2022, led by Gecko devising performers Miguel Hernando Torres Umba and Vanessa Guevara Flores.
‘As soon as you walk into the space there is a special feeling’ Residency Participant (Dec 2021)
This weeklong residency allows a small group of professional artists to delve into the world of Gecko and to learn about the company’s approach to physical theatre and devising. It is an opportunity to gain an insight into the creative process our devising performers go through when creating a show and provides a chance to refuel, replenish and inspire your creative practice. During the week you will gain:
A deeper insight into Gecko’s creation process and ‘Total Theatre’ methodology
A toolkit of practical devices and approaches to take into your own practice
A spark to ignite the endless possibilities of creating and devising
A reminder of the magical potential of theatre
A new community and network of theatre makers and artists
Places on the residency cost £450 (inc. VAT), with bursary places available for those who are currently underrepresented in the arts.
