We are seeking an outstanding, driven and experienced General Manager to join us at a pivotal time for the company.
It is an exciting time for Gecko as we look to the future following our sold out performances of Kin at the National Theatre.
Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Finance Manager, the General Manager is an important member of the Gecko management team who ensure our operations, HR and financial management run smoothly across the organisation.
You will be working as part of a small and dedicated team that deliver our awarding winning productions and creative learning programmes locally, nationally and internationally. It’s an incredible team to be part of and although everyone has their own roles, Gecko is a company where everyone supports each other and often work very closely together.
Along with the core team, our amazing ensemble of freelance company members (including performers, designers, composers and technicians) play an essential part in the creation of our work. The ensemble tours our work nationally and internationally, co-creates our co-productions with other artistic companies, and play an active role in our creative engagement projects, workshops and professional development courses for students, teachers and artists.

Terms of Appointment
Contract: This is a fixed-term, 1-year contract. We welcome applications from candidates who would be interested in this role on a 0.8 FTE (4 day week) basis, in which case the salary would be offered pro-rata. If this is of interest, please specify this in your supporting statement when applying. There is the potential for the contract to be extended and/or for the position to become permanent, pending executive review after the initial term.
Salary: £40,000 per year
Working Hours: Standard office hours are 9.00am - 5.00pm (Monday to Friday). You will be expected to work at the office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
Location: Our offices are at the Warehouse Studios, Paul’s Road, Ipswich, IP2 0AN. A relocation package is available to support a permanent move to the area.
Holidays: 25 days per year plus bank holidays
Pension: Workplace Pension Plan with 3% Company contribution
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Probation Period: 3 months. Notice Period: 3 months
