Our new Associate Show, ‘The Rescue’, comes to London!

Made in collaboration with students at Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

Longstanding Gecko performer Chris Evans, working alongside students at NSCD, has created a brand-new devised production that delves into the characteristics of archetypal childhood trauma and explores what happens to these wounds as adults.

Employing Gecko’s trademark style, devising performer Chris Evans (The OvercoatMissingInstituteThe Time of Your LifeThe Wedding, Kin) blends emotionally driven movement, a sweeping original soundtrack and striking visual storytelling to deliver a spectacular production about heroes, monsters and the fight for survival.

The Rescue was developed originally with students on the BA Acting and Contemporary Theatre course at East 15 before taking it back to the drawing board and developing a reimagined version with students on the MA Interdisciplinary Dance Performance course at Northern School of Contemporary Dance.
