Steve Allman
Head of Operations and Development
Steve joined Gecko in 2019 and has a wealth of experience in the cultural sector. He has delivered large capital projects at London’s Science Museum and the Glasgow Science Centre, as well as being relationship manager for the six NPOs (Arts Council funded National Portfolio Organisations) in Ipswich when he was head of Visitor Experience at Ipswich Borough Council. He ran his own consultancy company for seventeen years, focusing on public engagement in museums and arts organisations.
It’s now his job to keep Gecko running smoothly and he oversees everything from HR and IT systems, to marketing, finance, business development and fundraising. It’s also his job to deliver The Gecko Creation Space.
Outside of Gecko you’ll find him cooking, gardening, stargazing, running, birdwatching and making.
