Gecko announces new show commissioned by National Theatre
We are delighted to announce our new show, commissioned by the National Theatre, which will see the piece being performed at the venue in 2023. The show explores the themes of family, home, migration and racism and is currently being developed in our hometown of Ipswich.
Gecko awarded grant from Government's Culture Recovery Fund
Gecko is delighted to announce a grant of £161,650 from the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund, allowing us to continue development of our new show.
Who are the new characters in Institute, the feature film?
While the roles of Martin, Daniel, Karl and Louis are played by the same four devising performers that first toured with the show in 2013, there are a few fresh faces in the film. We asked the film and stage production’s writer and director, Amit, about his decision to include these characters.

Gecko and CITA Artist Exchange
A huge part of the work we do here at Gecko is within education, outreach, and artist development so when James Sutherland, Artistic Director of CITA Tokyo who met Gecko’s Artistic Director Amit Lahav while teaching students at East15 UK, invited Gecko to collaborate on a creative exchange residency, we very enthusiastically accepted.

Gecko receives grant for the Creation Space from Arts Council England
We are delighted to announce that we have received a grant of £499,999 from Arts Council England to help fund the building and development of the Gecko Creation Space on Ipswich’s Waterfront.
Taking the 'Thinking Year' to Valencia
